Watershed Education Strategy

The Escondido Creek Conservancy Blueprint for Environmental Education

2025-2029

Purpose of the Blueprint

The 2025-2029 blueprint for the Escondido Creek Conservancy builds on its predecessor, Education Strategic Plan 2016-2020, refining and expanding its educational mission. It directly aligns with the four main impact goals of The Escondido Creek Conservancy Strategic Plan Framework 2022-2026.

Developed through a 3-tiered planning process with input from stakeholders, advisors, and internal committees, the plan reaffirms a commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. It provides a clear framework to enhance partnerships, enrich programs, streamline operations, and strengthen financial sustainability while prioritizing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

In 2015, The Escondido Creek Conservancy met with stakeholders, partners, and collaborators to create the Conservancy’s first-ever Education Strategic Plan.  This is a five-year plan (Jan. 2016 – Dec. 2020) that will steer the Conservancy’s approach to our environmental education programs within the watershed, including–but not limited to–the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve.  We believe the Plan will ensure that our programs are as engaging and effective as our organizational capacity allows.
