The Elfin Forest Preserve is Growing! TECC is pleased to announce that we have assumed management responsibility for two beautiful properties in the heart of Elfin Forest. These properties came to us through a negotiated agreement with the property owners who were required to set aside these high-quality habitat lands to mitigate for development or infrastructure projects that they have undertaken in the region.
Greenlands -- This xxx acre property is situated on the east-facing slope of Paint Mountain. Escondido Creek crosses the property at the south-east corner. The habitat includes yada yada
San Elijo Ridge -- This xxx acre property is located along Questhaven Road, north of the Elfin Forest community. It is home to xxx acres of css -- a prime CAGN habitat.

Under terms of the habitat management agreement, a permanent endowment has been established at The San Diego Foundation for each of the properties which will provide management and monitoring funding in perpetuity. An endowment is defined as .... . It is TECC's policy to establish separate endowments for each property that it manages.
These new acquisitions further TECC's mission of preserving, protecting and enhancing the watershed of Escondido Creek. TECC is proud of this accomplishment, which the support of our members has made possible.
Many volunteer opportunities exist to support TECC's management of these beautiful properties. Examples include sign installation, fencing, trash collection, brush removal, and monitoring. We hope you can offer your time and talents to help! Contact the office for details. Learn more about these important acquisitions in our upcoming Spring edition, The Watershed Voice, available to TECC members. |
